Eco lodges in Limburg, deep in the quiet of the woods

Close enough for a long weekend, far enough from the noise. At Eco by Nature you stay in a comfortable eco lodge in Heythuysen, in the middle of Limburg. You wake with the light between the trees, take your time over breakfast, and decide for yourself how full, or how empty, the day is allowed to be.

Two lodges on the same grounds, both bio-based and minimally furnished. De Stilte takes 2 to 4 people, De Adem 4 to 6.

The interior

Scandinavian design that leaves room for quiet

Inside an eco lodge the interior does not ask for your attention. It supports what you came here to do: slow down. The furnishing is minimal and Scandinavian, with calm lines, natural materials and a restrained palette. Warm wood and tall windows let the daylight and the woods take the lead.

Inside you have everything for a comfortable stay: a fully equipped kitchen, your own bathroom with a walk-in shower, a seating area and a terrace. You can cook properly with what the region grows, or start the day slowly with a coffee while the wood wakes up.

Sustainable

Built sustainably, with nothing given up on comfort

The lodges were built with bio-based materials wherever they work, on a zero-waste production principle. You do not meet that as a technical story: you feel it in how the lodge sits there, in the amount of wood, the quiet furnishing and a design that belongs to the place it stands in.

Staying sustainably here also means being careful with what is already present. On the grounds we separate packaging, food waste, paper and general waste, and we ask you to go easy on water and energy. The whole site is smoke-free and pets are not allowed, so the quiet and the wildlife stay intact for everyone. Everything we agree on is set out in our house rules.

Who it suits

A stay that matches how you actually recharge

If you are here for the quiet

There is no programme to get through. Walk straight into the woods from the lodge, read on the terrace, book a sauna slot, or leave your phone in the phone box for a while. You set the pace of the day.

If you are travelling with small children

Nature sets the pace: breakfast outside together, tracks to find, a walk through het Leudal. De Adem has two bedrooms and a cot on request, and the fully equipped kitchen means you eat when it suits your own rhythm.

If you are winding down after work

Meetings in central Limburg, or a few hours of focused work? The wifi is fast enough to work from here for a few days. Then you close the laptop and step straight into the woods. Conferences, parties and corporate events do not fit the concept and are not permitted.

Location

Staying on the edge of the Asbroekerheide quiet area

The eco lodges stand in Heythuysen, on the edge of the Asbroekerheide quiet area, a zone the province of Limburg has formally designated and protects against noise from outside. You hear what that means on the first evening: no through road, no neighbouring plot, no bustle.

From Heythuysen the Big Five of Hart van Limburg are all within reach: KempenBroek, RivierPark Maasvallei, De Meinweg National Park, De Groote Peel and het Leudal. So a slow day at the lodge alternates with walking, cycling and five very different Limburg landscapes. Discover the nature around Asbroekerheide.

Sauna

Warming up
on solar power

The sauna is part of staying at Eco by Nature and is free for guests of an eco lodge.

You book the sauna on site, on the board next to it: one slot a day, for your lodge. During that slot the sauna is yours together. Everyone staying in the lodge can join, and nobody else comes in.

The sauna is sustainable throughout: bio-based materials wherever they work, fully electric, and the energy it uses is offset with solar power.
