Which data we process
If you get in touch
If you get in touch by email, phone or WhatsApp, we process the data you share yourself (such as your name, your contact details and the content of your message) in order to answer your question.
If you book a stay
Booking runs through our booking partner Smoobu. For your reservation we process your name, your contact and stay details and the number and composition of your party, among other things. Payment runs through Smoobu's secure payment environment (with Stripe). We do not store any payment details ourselves.
If you visit our website
We measure how our website is used, to improve it and to find faults; for that we use PostHog. Through Google Tag Manager we place marketing and advertising tags (including the Meta Pixel) and store click and campaign details (such as gclid and UTM values) in cookies, so that we can measure and improve our advertising. We do this only with your consent.
Where the personal data comes from
In most cases we receive personal data directly from you. If you make a reservation through a booking platform or another intermediary, we may receive your personal data through that platform or party.
Cookies
Our website uses functional, analytical and marketing cookies. Functional cookies are needed to make the site work.
We use analytical cookies (PostHog) to measure how the site is used and to find faults. We process that data on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving the security, availability, performance and usability of our website.
We place marketing cookies (including the Meta Pixel through Google Tag Manager) only after you have given consent through our cookie notice; until then Google Tag Manager is not loaded and these tags are therefore not placed. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through Cookie preferences at the bottom of every page, and you can always delete or block cookies through your browser settings.
Why we process your data
- To carry out your booking or to answer your question (performance of the agreement). To make and carry out a reservation we need certain personal data, such as your name and contact details. Without that data we cannot process or carry out your reservation.
- To meet legal obligations (legal obligation). This includes the tax retention obligation and the registration of guest details for the declaration and payment of the municipal tourist tax.
- For a working, secure website and to measure how it is used (legitimate interest).
- For marketing and advertising (on the basis of your consent). Providing personal data for marketing purposes is not compulsory.
Sharing with others
We never sell your data. We share it only with parties that help us deliver this website and our service, such as our booking partner, payment providers, website and hosting suppliers, analysis and advertising partners and marketing service providers. On request we will tell you which parties those currently are. Where needed, we enter into data processing agreements with them.
Beyond that, we provide data to the municipality of Leudal insofar as that is necessary for the declaration and payment of the tourist tax, and to other authorities where we are legally obliged to do so.
Some services (such as Google and Meta) may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. In that case we arrange appropriate safeguards, as a rule through the Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission.
How long we keep data
We keep data no longer than necessary:
- We keep booking and payment related data for 7 years, because of our legal (tax) retention obligation.
- We keep contact details (for a question without a booking) for up to 24 months after the last contact.
- Click and campaign cookies expire after 90 days.
Your rights
You have the right to see your data, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to the processing or have it restricted. You also have the right to data portability. You can withdraw your consent at any time. Send your request to info@ecobynature.nl.
If we cannot resolve it together, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl). You can also turn to the supervisory authority in your own country.
Automated decision-making
Eco by Nature does not take decisions based solely on automated processing of personal data that have legal or similar consequences for the people involved.
Minors
Our website and our service are not aimed at people under 16. We do not knowingly process the data of minors without the consent of a parent or guardian. Do you think we have processed a minor's data all the same? Get in touch with us and we will delete it.
Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including a secure (https) connection.
Changes
We may adjust this privacy statement, for instance for new services or changed rules. The current version is always at ecobynature.nl/privacy. You can recognise the applicable version by the version line at the bottom of this document.
