Booking & payment
How do I book a stay?
You book directly through the calendar on this site, with our booking partner Smoobu. Once you have your confirmation, your stay is set.
How can I pay?
Securely through Smoobu, by iDEAL, credit card, Klarna or SEPA direct debit. We do not store payment details ourselves. Unless stated otherwise, you pay the full rent when you book.
Do I get a discount if I stay longer?
The longer you stay, the lower the price per night. There is no code to enter and nothing to apply for: the discount is already in the price you see once you pick your dates, and it applies to every night of your stay, Friday and Saturday included.
- 2 nights: 10 percent off
- 3 or 4 nights: 15 percent off
- 5 or 6 nights: 22 percent off
- 7 to 29 nights: 25 percent off
- From 30 nights: 30 percent off in De Adem, 35 percent in De Stilte
Counted in nights: a week gets you close to two nights free. A month gets you nine nights in De Adem and a little over ten in De Stilte.
What that means per night:
- De Stilte: from 147 euro a night for a month, 185 euro for a week, 246 euro for a single weekend night.
- De Adem: from 187 euro a night for a month, 215 euro for a week, 287 euro for a single weekend night.
On top of that: 50 euro final cleaning per booking and 1,50 euro tourist tax per person per night, exactly as the municipality of Leudal charges it. Nothing else. No service fee and no booking fee. You see the full amount before you pay.
Booking directly through this site is always the lowest price. On booking platforms we pay commission, and that commission sits in their price.
Do the prices include VAT?
Yes. Tourist tax and any extras such as the final cleaning are listed separately in your booking, before you pay.
How does the tourist tax work?
If you book directly through this site, you pay the tourist tax together with your stay. If you book through a platform that cannot handle it, you pay the tourist tax on site before you leave. If it is still outstanding then, we may set it off against the deposit.
Do you ask for a deposit?
Yes. You will know the amount in advance, or with your confirmation at the latest. Leave the lodge tidy with nothing outstanding and you get the deposit back. It can be used for damage, extra cleaning, unpaid tourist tax and other amounts you owe under the agreement. See article 9 of our terms.
How old do I have to be to book?
You can book from the age of 25: whoever puts the booking in their name is at least 25. Children and younger guests are of course welcome within the same booking.
Is Eco by Nature suitable for children or larger groups?
For families, certainly: De Adem has two bedrooms and a cot on request. Whoever books is at least 25, though. Each lodge has a maximum number of guests (De Stilte up to 4, De Adem 4 to 6). You can also book both lodges at once. Parties and events are not allowed and do not fit what we are.
Can I cancel free of charge?
You can cancel free of charge up to the deadline stated with your booking; after that, costs may apply, in full or in part. You see the exact terms when you book, in your confirmation and in article 4 of our terms. Please note: the statutory fourteen-day cooling-off period does not apply here.
Can I change my booking?
Get in touch as soon as you can at info@ecobynature.nl and we will see what is possible.
What happens in bad weather or force majeure?
In case of force majeure we look for a workable solution with you: move the stay, or cancel the part you have not used.
Arrival & stay
When can I check in and check out?
Check-in from 15:00, check-out before 11:00. The exact times are in your booking confirmation.
How do I get in? Is there a reception?
We work without a reception, so your stay is entirely self-service. You get a personal QR code in advance that gives you access to your lodge. Make sure you arrive with a charged phone and internet.
Where do I find Eco by Nature?
Heide 24, 6093 PB Heythuysen, the Netherlands. The lodges border on the Asbroekerheide quiet area. Directions and parking are in your confirmation.
Is anyone reachable if something comes up?
There is a phone number for emergencies. That number is not for general questions, so send us an email for those. In an emergency, always call 112 first.
Is there wifi?
Yes, and fast enough to work from the lodge for a few days. If you would rather be unreachable for a while: there is a phone box in the lodge to put your device in.
What does "quiet area" mean?
It is an area where rest and nature come first, designated as such by the province of Limburg. We ask you to keep noise to a minimum, so everyone can wind down undisturbed.
Sauna
Is the sauna included in my stay?
Yes. The sauna is free to use when you book an eco lodge. You reserve one slot a day for your lodge, and that slot is for everyone staying in it: the two of you or the whole family.
How do I reserve a sauna slot?
You reserve on site, on the board next to the sauna. Nobody else joins you during your slot.
Do I have to wear swimwear in the sauna?
Yes. You use the sauna in swimwear only. Going in nude is not allowed.
What do I bring, and how about hygiene?
Bring a towel to sit on and take a quick shower before you go in. Leave the sauna tidy for the next guest.
What should I watch out for health-wise?
Using the sauna is at your own risk. If you have any doubts about your health, for instance during pregnancy or with heart or vascular complaints, talk to your doctor first. Children only with an adult.
Do the quiet rules apply at the sauna too?
The quiet of the neighbouring area applies in and around the sauna as well. Keep it low, so everyone can unwind undisturbed.
Fire pit & barbecue
Can I use the fire pit?
Yes, when conditions allow. Open fire is only permitted in the fire pit, and only after we have lit it or given permission. You burn only the wood we supply; accelerants and burning waste or other materials are not allowed.
Is the fire pit always available?
No. In case of drought, raised wildfire risk, strong wind, government measures or maintenance, we may not be able to allow it for a while. There is no refund or other compensation in that case. We will tell you on site.
What else should I keep in mind around fire?
Always keep the fire supervised by an adult, and never leave the fire pit before the fire is completely out. Children only at the fire pit with an adult. You stay responsible for using it safely, and you follow our instructions.
Can I barbecue?
Yes, with the barbecue we provide. Every other kind of open fire, so fire baskets, fire bowls, candles, torches and fire equipment you bring yourself, is not allowed.
Practical
Can I bring my dog?
Pets are unfortunately not allowed at Eco by Nature. That is how we keep the area quiet and the nature intact for everyone.
Can I come by car and park?
You park in the marked spaces and keep access roads and paths clear. From there it is a hundred metres on foot at most to your lodge, and there is a cart for your luggage.
Can I charge my electric car?
Not yet. Charging points are expected from 2027. Charging from an ordinary socket is not allowed.
Can I cook for myself?
Yes, every lodge has its own kitchenette. It is fully equipped, so you can put a complete meal together.
Where do I shop?
Heythuysen has several supermarkets for everyday shopping. Beyond that we are happy to point you to the fruit and vegetable growers nearby: the brochure folder in your lodge lists addresses where you can buy fresh produce, within walking or cycling distance.
What about smoking?
We are a completely smoke-free park: no smoking in the lodges, and nowhere else on the grounds either. Do not leave cigarette ends or other smoking waste in the nature or on the site.
How do I separate my waste?
There are containers on site for packaging (PMD), organic waste (GFT), paper and general waste. We ask you to separate your waste and to leave nothing behind in or around the lodge. If waste is not cleared away or not separated as instructed, we may charge 25 euro in additional waste-processing and cleaning costs.
Where do I find the house rules?
The full house rules are on this site, in your booking confirmation and in your lodge.
What do you do with my data?
We handle it carefully. We never sell your data and we do not store payment details ourselves. The full account is in our privacy statement.
